Enchantress Awakening

Ever wondered what desires lie in the hearts of others? Caleigh, a young handmaiden in the unremarkable town of Connlad, knows exactly what everyone wants. What she doesn’t know is how she comes to have this gift and what it means nor does she have much time to find out, as with her new knowledge come visions of a terrible past whose return in already in motion.

Meanwhile, the knowledge that she is the object of many a man’s fantasy is having an effect on her that her squire lover may be unequal to containing.

Where to turn for advice? With only her free-spirited best friend and a maker of remedies to confide in the chance of answers seem slim. Fortunately, there is one wizard left in the world and she has met him – the only trouble is everyone knows he’s only pretending.

Follow Caleigh, as she struggles with the burden of her message and the burning desires with which she is beset. From her sleepy town to the high towers of a great and secretive fortress lies a journey not just of self-discovery, in a land where the magically-gifted are often persecuted and slain, but the burden to carry a warning that may very well save the world.

Enchantress Apprentice

As if the end of the world wasn’t enough to be dealing with, knowing the desires of those closest to you and knowing you can affect them by your mere presence is a concerning prospect. Caleigh, apprentice mage and most gifted enchantress of her generation, realises both her quest and her best chance of both growing and learning to control her powers lie beyond the comforting walls of Elevered and so she heads out to the largest city north of the old Empire, the bustling port of Lakehaven. Here she meets the most powerful living Enchanter and finds herself drawn into events of the recent past and on a quest to track down those who were once in possession of the most desired treasure of the Western Lands, the Vessel of Life.

Meeting a charming knight and a seductive and independent noble lady, Caleigh sets off in the trail of the greatest warrior of the age; the one person living who knows where the Vessel might be and has done everything possible to ensure that none ever find it. All the while, the war against the Beast continues and new foes arrive in the form of the Coven: the wicked and cruel counterparts to the Librarians of Elevered.

In these times of struggle Caleigh needs to learn to master her art quicker than ever before her life and the lives of those closest to her depend upon it.

Enchantress Destiny

The final pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. While her friends in Elevered are under siege from the cursed Coven and their monstrous firbolg army, Caleigh heads north in search of the last allies she needs in her quest. But will she find what she seeks in the vast and mysterious Ceilidon forest and will she be able to return in time?

At home there are vipers in the nest and a battle looms from which either the Coven or the Librarians will surely be broken. In a world on the brink of war, only one power remains unaffected and Caleigh must turn once more to her enigmatic sometimes teacher, Lazarus, in the hope he will turn his vast wealth to their aid.

The end of the quest is in sight; Caleigh’s destiny must be fulfilled and that means a confrontation with he who calls himself the God of the Sea, the traitor Argahan. In Caleigh’s way stand not just the matter of miles, rough waters and a host of warriors but the stuff of very legends themselves. All must be overcome but no great victories can come without great loss.

Set in a parallel Arthurian world (post-Roman Britain) The Book of Water is all three parts of the first volume in the Elemental Cycle.
